Suppla grew from lived experience of childhood eczema: night-time itching, repeated scratching, damaged skin and broken sleep.

After years of creams, treatments and clothing that offered little beyond softness, we began asking a different question: could clothing do more?

Suppla didn’t begin in a boardroom. It began at home, during long nights shaped by my children's eczema. I remember lying awake listening to the scratching, spending nights co-sleeping or lying on their bedroom floor, and everyone being exhausted the following day.

I tried countless products. Some helped; others made little difference. I still remember the guilt I felt when something I tried made their skin worse. Those experiences showed me how difficult it can be for exhausted parents to separate evidence from marketing promises.

I wanted to create something different: functional clothing shaped by lived experience, developed with scientific rigour, clinically tested, and results shared openly so parents can make informed choices.

Rather than accept broken sleep as an unavoidable part of childhood eczema, I began exploring whether clothing could do more.

Working with textile and garment specialists, we developed our Signature Fabric and skin-first designs around the challenges of heat, moisture, friction and repeated scratching.

I wouldn’t ask other parents to trust Suppla without evidence, so our clothing was independently clinically tested under dermatological and paediatric control over 28 nights, to understand performance in real life.

MEET MAZ, PRODUCT DIRECTOR

Lived experience. Textiles & Design expert.

Maz has lived with eczema since she was a toddler. She understands what clothing can feel like against sore, sensitive skin, from fabric sticking to painfully sore skin to discomfort disrupting sleep.

Those experiences stayed with her, giving her a deeply personal understanding of what clothing can feel like against inflamed, vulnerable skin.

Combining that personal understanding with her expertise in textile innovation, product development and design, Maz helped bring Suppla to life. Working from the fibre level up, she considered every material, seam and finish around the needs of eczema and sensitive skin.
