FAQS

ABOUT SUPPLA

What is Suppla?

Suppla develops functional clothing and accessories for eczema and sensitive skin.

Every product combines our Signature Fabric with skin-first design to help manage heat and moisture, minimise friction and protect vulnerable skin. Our approach is shaped by lived experience, developed through research and independently tested.

What makes Suppla different?

We believe clothing should do more than simply feel soft.

From the fibres we select to every seam, label and finish, Suppla is developed around the realities of eczema. Our Signature Fabric, skin-first construction and independent testing work together to create clothing designed to perform day and night.

Is Suppla suitable for eczema and sensitive skin?

Yes. Suppla is specifically developed around the needs of eczema and sensitive skin.

Our Signature Fabric underwent independent skin-tolerance testing and was found to be hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin, with no evidence of irritation or sensitisation observed during testing.

Our Signature Fabric was then put to the test an independent clinical evaluation.

Read our clinical results here.

Has Suppla been independently evaluated?

Yes. Our Signature Fabric first underwent independent skin-tolerance testing. Suppla therapeutic clothing then underwent an independent 28-day clinical evaluation under dermatological and paediatric control.

The evaluation measured changes in sleep quality, visible irritation and scratch-related skin damage, as well as parents’ quality of life.

Is Suppla a medical device?

No. Suppla is functional clothing, not a medical device, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition.

It is designed to support sensitive skin and complement your existing skincare routine and any advice provided by your healthcare professional.

Can Suppla replace eczema treatments?

No. Suppla is not intended to replace prescribed treatments or professional medical advice.

Our clothing is designed to be worn alongside your child’s usual skincare routine, helping protect vulnerable skin from scratching and support better sleep. Always continue to follow the advice of your healthcare professional when managing eczema.

Is Suppla the same as ZipZoc?

No. Although both contain zinc oxide, they are very different products.

Zipzoc is a medicated stocking containing 20% zinc oxide in an ointment base, giving it a wet or greasy feel. Suppla has zinc oxide embedded directly within the lyocell fibres and feels like soft, lightweight everyday clothing. It is dry, washable and leaves no ointment or residue on the skin.

Suppla is not a medical dressing or a replacement for prescribed treatment.

MATERIALS + TESTING

What is the Suppla Signature Fabric?

Our Signature Fabric is a smooth, breathable lyocell fabric with embedded zinc oxide, developed around the needs of eczema and sensitive skin.

It helps manage heat and moisture while providing a low-friction supportive layer between vulnerable skin and the outside environment.

Read more about our materials here.

What is Suppla made from?

Our main fabric is made from:

  • 96% lyocell with zinc oxide embedded within the fibres
  • 4% elastane for gentle stretch
  • 100% lyocell sewing thread

It is undyed and unbleached. You can find the complete composition of each product on its individual product page.

Read more about our materials here.

What does the zinc oxide do?

The pharmaceutical-grade zinc oxide helps limit bacterial growth within the fabric.

It is embedded within the lyocell fibres rather than applied to the surface, so the fabric remains soft, dry, hygienic, and comfortable against the skin.

Is the zinc oxide a coating?

No. The zinc oxide is embedded within the lyocell fibres during their production and activated from heat and small amounts of perspiration that are released from everyone's skin during wear.

It is not an ointment or surface coating and does not leave a greasy residue on the skin.

Are Suppla Materials hypoallergenic?

Yes. Our Signature Fabric underwent independent skin-tolerance testing and was found to be hypoallergenic and suitable for sensitive skin.

No evidence of irritation or sensitisation was observed during the assessment.

How has Suppla been tested?

Our Signature Fabric first underwent independent skin-tolerance testing. Suppla therapeutic clothing then underwent an independent 28-day clinical evaluation in-use under dermatological and paediatric control.

The evaluation measured changes in sleep quality, visible irritation and scratch-related skin damage, as well as parents’ quality of life.

SIZING + AFTERCARE

How do I choose the right size?

Choosing the right size is important for comfort and performance.

Please refer to our Size Guide before ordering.

→ View our Size Guide

How should the Sensitive Sleepsuit fit?

The Sensitive Sleepsuit is designed for a closer fit without feeling restrictive. This helps keep the fabric comfortably positioned against the skin throughout the night.

If your child falls between sizes or you are unsure which to choose, contact us before ordering.

Can Suppla be worn with creams and emollients?

Yes. Suppla is designed to be worn alongside your child’s usual skincare routine.

Apply any creams or emollients as directed and, where possible, allow them time to absorb before dressing. Always continue to follow the advice of your healthcare professional.

How should I wash Suppla garments?

Machine wash at 30°C with similar colours, using your usual detergent that is compatible with your skin. Hang to dry and do not bleach or tumble dry.

Ironing is optional but can help restore the fabric’s softer, smoother feel, particularly in hard-water areas.
